PORT OF mÁLAGA

The Port of Málaga is an international seaport located in the city of Málaga in southern Spain, on the Costa del Sol coast of the Mediterranean. It is the oldest continuously-operated port in Spain and one of the oldest in the Mediterranean.

Principal port activities include cruise shipping and the importation of containerised manufactured products, break bulk and vehicles. A small fishing fleet also operates from the port.

Profile

Virginia Pastor is a Maritime Lawyer in Málaga and other Southern Spanish Ports.  Licensed to practice law by the University of Málaga. Member of the Illustre Colegio de Abogados (Bar Association) of Málaga. Obtained a Masters of Law 2008 – 2010 from the Bar Association of Málaga in conjunction with the University of Málaga. Master’s thesis «The Stowaway on Ships in Spanish Ports. Limitation of Shipowner’s Responsibility.»  She recently attended the Seventh Annual Fordham Summer Law Institute in New York and a practical course in International Inheritance Law by Jus Internationalis-Legal Formation for the 21st Century. Virginia began her legal career with Abogados Taillefer in Málaga dealing with matters of Private International Law. Subsequently and for several years she worked in an international control and inspection entity, dealing with matters relating to maritime trade, loading and unloading of ships, etc. Subsequently and in her own office, she concentrates on areas mainly related to private international law. At present, she is a consultant for several Maritime Law Firms in Spain and works from her own office in Málaga.
